In Amsterdam, it takes a little time for visitors to get used to our narrow streets and traffic bustling with cars and fast bicycles.
If you look around this lovely city, you’ll see lots of cyclists and pedestrians staring at their phones. Raising awareness about the danger of this is very important – life and death important.
Because distraction, however short, can have serious consequences.
“That must be a very important message”, says the passerby rather dryly when he sees a cyclist whizz by while looking at his phone. But is it really sooo important? Getting that perfect angle for a selfie... Checking the route… Updating Instagram... Texting about tonight’s dinner…
What’s really important, is that you arrive safely at your destination.
So, phones and traffic. Just don’t.
